Two midnights gone

After I spent the afternoon sleeping late and then working on random stuff on my laptop, Ben came down here and picked me up. We ended up at the City Line TGIFriday's for dinner because it was actually open, and then we saw Valkyrie down at the movie theater at 40th and Chestnut. (Ben's choice. I wanted to see Benjamin Button, but in reality I was just happy to go see whatever the hell Ben wanted to, so it wasn't hard to change my mind.) It wasn't bad, but a kind of mediocre movie overall. He's totally fired. Though his Wawa-Master skills are worth something, at least.

I'm going to get tickets to see TMBG on New Year's Eve at the TLA. Wish I had someone to go with. I'd invite my dad but he can't stand up for 2-3 hours, so we have to find out if the TLA can get a chair for him. Assuming there are still tickets left tomorrow, etc.

EDIT 1pm Friday: I got tickets to see TMBG on New Year's Eve at the TLA. After trying to call them for an hour or two to ask about getting a chair for my dad, [profile] darknote called me totally randomly and said he'd go to the concert with me! So, excellent, I will get to hang out with an old friend and eat cheesesteaks and see TMBG! Which was what I'd been hoping for in the first place. :)

I need to decide when to go back to Seattle. Argh.

Also, bleh.

Total tangent: I finally in Puzzle Pirates got Janthina a grey elephant with a green and yellow blanket named Stomper... then accidentally backlogged my tailor for 4 days so I can't make her a matching Oakland A's outfit to go with him yet. Teehee. I have REALLY got to get off my butt and also buy the points to rename a ship to be called the Connie Mackerel. I had been thinking of getting a "Randy Bass" or a "Hanshin Tigerfish" next to go with my Hiroshima Carp ship, but this would be so much funnier. Or "Catfish Hunter". Something needs to go with the A's theme. But the Connie Mack tribute would be ideal because he was the one who made the elephant the mascot in the first place.
