I'm in DC!
Or more like, I'm in Maryland. At my brother's place, near Wheaton.
I fell asleep instead of updating yesterday, but not much to say. I ended up skipping ballroom and instead went with Stewart to The Pub for dinner, yes, the place near what used to be the Airport Circle. It was surprisingly empty for a Sunday night; our thought was that the prices have gone up with the new management, so that must be why. I had a gigantic steak (16 oz -- yikes) and a lot of salad and totally felt it sitting in my stomach for the rest of the evening.
I worked on Perl stuff until my head hurt, then took a break and played Puzzle Pirates. Got in on a Cursed Isles cutter mission where everyone actually GOT stuff, and apparently I was the total winner because I got a enlightened mask! It's neat. It was the first time I went on a CI mission and didn't come out of it with like... an old foil. Now I see why people go in with small groups (and I need more hearties).
Anyway, um, today I basically got up, did laundry, packed, and came down to MD. Aside from the Amtrak train being 25 minutes late in the first place it was fairly uneventful. 30th Street Station looks a lot nicer than I remember it...
My brother and his wife have a 1-month-old daughter. I get the distinct impression that most of what they do these days is basically take turns holding the baby, essentially. I should probably take some photos or something.

Thursday my mom will come here and after that I have to go down to VA.
