I'm in Philly now

Saturday: got up, finished packing, got a ride to the eastside from [profile] zml and [profile] dvarin on their way to Woodinville for D&D. Was dropped off at a Starbucks in Kirkland, sort of like contraband gamer; the pickup was Andy, who transported me to the Celtic Bayou in Redmond. We spent a little while catching up (I hadn't seen him since he visited Japan in June), and we were shortly joined by [profile] kamendae... and an hour later, finally [profile] agh and Jason showed up. We got food. It was good. I had bangers&mash, though I maybe shoulda had something else, oh well. Someone made the check mysteriously disappear when I went to the bathroom, which was nice of them :)

Then we adjourned to Andy's place and played a game called Agricula. I was feeling really sluggish and tired, and Mike and Jason and I were all new players, so it felt like it was going to be a really annoying uphill battle to play, but I know that a lot of times I feel really frustrated during first games of things, but okay after I get the idea, so... I decided to just go with it and learn the game. As it is, I ended up playing a major sheep-raising strategy and had a final 34 points, to Drew's 39 and Andy's 40 (Mike and Jason had less but I forget exactly). Apparently that was good for a first playing.

Drew and Jason gave me a ride down to Claim Jumper, where we met up with Zach and Carl again (my stuff was in Carl's car, which is why it was imperative), and Oren as well, and that was fun to have a last dinner in Seattle with everyone before heading out.

Airport wasn't bad, security line was short and I didn't get messed with at all. My flight left on time at 10:10pm.

The first flight was weird though.

Everything was normal for the first 3 hours or so -- I kept nodding off, I had a can of diet Pepsi on my tray... at one point I accidentally woke up and knocked over my soda cup. That sucked. I called a flight attendant, who brought me napkins, and I cleaned up as best I could... around the same moment, the girl next to me asked if she could get up and go to the bathroom.

I stood up to find someone to give the napkins back to, and the girl had collapsed next to the bathroom. (We were in the row right in front of the bathroom so it was just like, right there.)

I don't really know what happened -- she got crowded by a bunch of FA's and such who brought over oxygen and other things. I told them she'd just asked to go to the bathroom and fell over and they assumed I was travelling with her -- not the case. Turns out her mom was on the flight a couple rows up though, so they called her and got her to come over -- also paged the plane to ask if there was a doctor anywhere, and someone came by. Everyone was turning to look at the situation, which was weird.

I'm not sure what the eventual outcome was. They moved the girl up to sit with her mom somehow.

I wasn't able to fall asleep after that of course, nor did I really sleep on my connecting flight from Detroit to Philly, so I'm pretty zonked now. I ate my Claim Jumper muffin in the Detroit airport at 6am or whatever and that was pretty nice.

No problems on the Philly airport end either, got my bags, got on the train, came to my dad's house, which is where I am now. He's watching the DVD that came with one of the Ventures CDs I got him, and I just said hi to my grandpa on the phone, and stuff like that.

I guess I'm here for the next month or two. WTF am I going to do in Philly? :)

Visit me! ^_^

Well, eventually anyway. Though call whenever -- same number as in my early post to LJ.

And, welcome back. Neat to see the picture of you and your Dad.
