SBK is horrible, haha. Very overpriced, and their equipment (if you can even call it that...) belongs in the Smithsonian - it's freakin' LASER DISCS, and only one person can access a disc at a given time. So if you wanna sing a Japanese song and a fellow down the hall is already using the disc, tough luck, you gotta wait. It's ridiculous, lol.
I know a better place... kind of a little hole in the wall, but it's cheap, their equipment is much better, and their Japanese song selection is as good as it gets for America. :)
I get home around ~7 PM on the weekdays, so I could change out of my business clothes and meet you as early as 7:30. Weekends are fine too, of course. Lemme know what works best for you!
that might be good. maybe thursday night? Another friend or two of mine (who also speak Japanese) might be interested in going too and checking out the place.
is it a karaoke box place though? or karaoke bar? where is it?
It's called Venus Karaoke and it's 1 block from Uwajimaya (in the same building as Pink Godzilla). Box style, not a bar. Compared to everything else in Seattle, it's pretty great.
$20/hour for 1-4 people and $30/hour for 5-10 people. So if you were to bring 2 more friends to make 4 total, it would work out nicely in monetary terms. :D
