Sigh

This morning, or more like, at noon, the Kojima Denki guys came by and installed the refridgerator and washing machine. They advised me to get some sort of rubber band to keep around the water spout, but I didn't entirely understand what he meant (he was like "you should put it there or there's a chance eventually the water will gush all over here").

I went into east Akabane after that. I got lunch at Heiroku, and BOY is it different on Saturdays, entirely different staff. I might have to drop by during the week next week to see if it's just another employee shift (I still wonder where Onodera got sent...) I went to Daiso after that and spent like an hour looking for stuff for the house. I got most of the things I wanted, I think. I stopped by GEOS a bit after that because I had to explain a cryptic thing I'd written in a teaching report, and then I came home.

And then uh I went and got a haircut. At a place called Unix. No, really.

Unfortunately I think I got a terrible haircut. Terrible. I should have told the guy to stop the minute I realized he was overlayering my hair but I didn't. I guess it's my mistake but seriously, I don't think he realizes how much gaijin hair inflates when you overlayer it like this, plus it's a lot shorter now. The shorterness I wanted, the overfuckinglayeredness, I did not. I'm also in doubt that I can possibly put it back for sports without super-gelling it, which sucks because I wanted to play volleyball tomorrow. Fuck, I needed a haircut, but DAMN I hate getting them because they ALWAYS make me unhappy no matter what. (Actually to be fair I liked the last one I got here in Japan, although the front was done badly.)

These are cellphone pictures:

Me shortly after getting the haircut.

Me about 5 minutes ago.

I am betting anything I will wake up tomorrow and look like a freaking soccer mom.

Anyway, after the haircut I went to Kawaguchi and had my goodbye party from GEOS. I can't really talk about it in a public entry. Take that however you want to. We had like 20 people and it was at the Italian place that Eri's party was also at. The after-party was only 4 of us at an izakaya and eventually I came back to Akabane a little after 1am with one student, who walked me most of the way home (despite that I drank a lot of alcohol tonight, I'm actually completely sober and didn't feel buzzed at all, I guess it's from eating so much food) before heading off to their own place. So much for an all-night party or any karaoke or anything.

Now I am leeching wireless and should probably go to sleep soon.

FWIW, I think it looks really nice on you.

I think it does too.

And to get it looking like the first picture, which btw, is really pretty, you probably just need to use similar styling products and techniques that the guy in the salon used.

The 'rubber band' is probably actually a hose clamp. Clamps a hose connection down and keeps it secure.

I'm in the "looks nice" camp too.

You look really cute! Maybe you just hate getting haircuts period? The results of this one are great!

I know you complained about the haircut (not being able to tie it back for sports = the lose), but I think it looks good on you! I think I always comment whenever you post haircut pics that short hair looks good on you, so... I guess I'll remain consistent and do so again XD

The biggest difference between the two pictures is the second one needs a SMILE!! The hair looks great.

No, really.

First, I like the way it looks!

Second, it isn't because you're a gaijin. It is because you've got some curl/wave in your hair, and no one in the entire freeking universe has any idea how to cut the hair of curly girls. I have the same layering issue every damn time I get my hair cut, and it doesn't matter if I pay $20 or $200 - it always happens.
