resting day...

Today I didn't really go anywhere. I feel kind of sick... headachy and sniffly.
Like this morning when I woke, I debated going to Jingu for some college baseball but decided I just didn't feel like going early enough. Then in the evening I was supposed to hang out with Krispy and people down at Keio... but it's like an hour and a half away from here so I just couldn't get the energy to go (2-3 hours on the train for 3 hours hanging out doesn't sound so great when you are feeling sick/tired).

As it is, um... I did laundry and I cleaned up my apartment a bit.

I wanted to go get something good to eat today, but ended up just not. I actually screwed up making some macaroni for lunch and ate raisin bread instead, and then went to the 100-yen shop to buy some plastic bins to put stuff in, and then couldn't decide where to get food on the way back, so I ate instant noodles for dinner. Boring. I'm actually a little disappointed in myself and at the same time... it's ok, I didn't really want to spend a lot of time or money on food in the end.

I wish getting rid of stuff wasn't so difficult :)

I've been watching the Fighters 2007 DVD that I bought at bookoff a few months ago and still hadn't opened. In a way it's a good thing I left it until now... 2007 is SO long ago now. They showed Yukio Tanaka getting his 2000th hit in May and it felt like a lifetime ago. I actually cried -- I miss Yukio, he was one of my favorite players before he retired.

It's just, baseball here doesn't change quite like it does in the US... rosters are often fairly stable from year to year. So mostly, the lineups in these games on the DVD are the same as the teams now. But there's enough of a difference to notice... obviously things like Seguignol, and Hillman, and Kanemura, Tsuboi batting 3rd at ichi-gun, stuff like that. Furuta sitting in the dugout during interleague. Shinji wearing #30. Still...

(Sadly they only have Sapporo Dome footage on this DVD, and I didn't go there in 2007.)

The Fighters lost to the Marines today. It's tough. I'm not sure how I feel exactly about the postseason... I actually want the Fighters to finish in 3rd place in a way because there is a lot more chance I can go to Osaka or Chiba for playoff games than Sapporo! But, we'll see.
