crane games and stuff

Tonight after work I headed into the arcade in the south part of Akabane station. I had a purpose I can't disclose here, but needless to say I also checked out the UFO catchers and had one of my luckiest days ever. First, I got three Halloween Hello Kitty pirate-skeleton-theme kitties for one 100 yen coin. Then... well, there was this machine with a big Halloween Stitch in it that I wanted.

Problem is, there was also this salaryman standing by the machine who really wanted it too, and he was putting coins in. He even convinced an arcade clerk to reposition it to be easier. BUT he also kept just putting the crane down on top of it... and it wasn't moving... FOR OBVIOUS REASONS.

He saw me watching and sort of nodded at me.

I said (in Japanese, and I know I didn't get it quite grammatically correct), "Why don't you try pulling it from the right?"

"From the right?" he said and laughed, with this "like you have any clue what you're talking about" air to it.

So he went to go get more change, and I put in 200 yen, put the crane to the right of Stitch's head so it lined up with his ltitle pumpkin hat, and... BLAM, one try, I hit the sweet spot on it and Stitch fell down.

Salaryman comes back just in time to see that, I said "See, to the right." and he was just kinda gaping at me like "Umai yo..."

Yeah, anyway.

This afternoon I had open until 4pm and I thought about going to the Seibu minor-league park this afternoon for the Lions-Fighters game, BUT it'd take an hour there and an hour back and I'd only be able to stay for an hour and a half anyway, so I didn't go. As it is I apparently missed Matt Kinney starting for Seibu, and home runs by Bocachica and by Fighters kid Sho Nakata, and I didn't get to see guys like Kenta Matsusaka, and Hitoshi Taneda, and so on, playing, plus my ni-gun boyfriend Ryota Imanari was the starting catcher for the Fighters. And if I'd gone to Urawa to see Marines-Giants, I woulda seen Nemoto at second and Kohbe at first for the Marines, and Ken Kadokura starting for the Giants. Grar! Ah well. Things happen. I may go catch Swallows-Lions on Friday, but that's not as exciting as seeing the Fighters or Marines.

Also, Benny Agbayani went nuts tonight and threw Lions catcher Toru Hosokawa to the ground after three Marines batters got hit by pitches out of 5 consecutive at-bats. It was really crazy. Don't mess with Benny.

I watched that video and just had to say WOW, that's how you take someone out with a bodyslam.

First of all, that is what they call PWNAGE.

And the other? WOW. That's a slam! And well, the biceps on that guy. Still, if a ball hit me that fast, I'd be pissed, too.

After this post I'm just going to not mess with Japan.
