Shunsuke Day!
For my last day in Osaka... well, I barely made checkout on time, then went to Osaka station and threw my stuff in a locker. Got omurice for breakfast. It sucked. I'm not used to that, usually food in Osaka is really good. I went to the Hanshin dept store again and got a Tigers schedule, too. Unlike normal teams, the Tigers don't really NEED to advertise or cater to fans or anything, see.
Then I went to the Osaka Dome again. I was super-early, so I managed to find the Orix mascot wandering around, and even though I was in my Watanabe #31 Lotte t-shirt...

Whee.
Got my ticket without too much trouble -- I've actually gotten reasonably good at talking to the people at the kankeisha desks now. And then I went in... talked my way down to the area right by the field and yelled hi to the Marines guys, yelled thanks to Frank for the ticket, and talked to Paul for a bit until a security guard started waving at me to get back from the fence area. You'd think "she's chatting with a Marines staffer" would be reasonable to let me stay there for a few minutes TWO HOURS BEFORE THE GAME but whatever. I wandered around the stadium for like an hour... found an unattended elevator and went up to the upper deck too and just walked around, took photos, etc.
One of the people who reads my blog, Nadya, came down and said hi to me for about 5 minutes at the end of BP. She had a far far away seat so couldn't stay there for the game.
As for the game, it was good, though cheering from the infield is always a bit weird. Shunsuke nearly got a CG shutout, lasted 7.2 innings, and Benny Agbayani hit a 2-run homer, and the Marines won 6-1. There was this American couple sitting a few rows ahead of me, turns out they were on their honeymoon and the guy is a friend of a friend of Bobby's, so they'd gotten arrangements to come see the team. They were in total tourist mode and really had no idea what was going on, but were nice enough people so I explained the Lucky 7 and the cheering and whatnot to them.
I wandered through the Osaka Dome's underbelly mall after that, and even got some Kiyohara stuff (yeah, I'm a tool) and eventually got bored and wandered off. Got my train ticket moved up by half an hour, fell asleep for half of the ride back to Tokyo anyway, and now I am home, whee. A little hard to believe, honestly. I'm pretty exhausted though.
It's weird, in Osaka everyone walks on the right side and does everything on the right side but in Tokyo it's all on the left so I have to readjust.
