ok, I'm in Osaka
at my hotel, and the internet actually works.
the hotel's kind of annoyingly far from umeda station but that's ok.
so yeah, i pretty much arrived in osaka, threw my stuff in a locker, and went to the osaka dome... went into the stadium and couldn't find anyone i knew. eventually DID find some people i knew from Tokyo but they all claimed there were no free seats near them to sit in. so get this -- i found the LADY WHO LET ME SIT WITH HER GROUP AT THE OSAKA DOME TWO YEARS AGO. seriously. wtf! her and her posse were in the exact same place, and the CRAZY nagoya guy was next to her, and he remembered me too, wtf? I'm so surprised by that. anyway I sat with them for the game and didn't keep score because the osaka dome sucks.
oh, at the start of the game they were putting people on the big screen and asking if they had goods for the Orix players. i think they put some fighters people on purpose. they put ME on -- me and the folks around me -- and were like "do you have any Darvish stuff?" so I held up my kazuhito tadano banner instead. teehee.
um, the game was crazy. fighters were down 5-2 and then CRUSHED their way back to win 10-5 with 22 hits. it was like last time i was at the osaka dome. pretty fantastic overall. Glasses Ouendan Guy was leading weird stuff in the 6th inning when the Fighters came back from behind -- first he was having men and women yell stuff separately, and then after that he had us all yelling "OI! FIGHTERS! ORETACHI WA! MADAMADA! AKIRAMENAIZO!" really loudly and then sing chance music or player songs. and sure enough they came back.
(glasses ouendan guy also told me to sit down at one point -- i still don't get why, he had just one section standing up, so he was actually like "gaijin-san, suwatte kudasai". i was a little surprised by that. and a minute later everyone stood up anyway.)
talked to brian sweeney before the game a bit, well, yelled down at him on the field, he yelled hi back :)
i had a strawberry ice cream crepe. it was YUMMY!
kiyohara pinch-hit near the end of the game and half the stadium ran to the infield to take pictures. and uh, Ronald McDonald threw out the ceremonial first pitch. whether these events are linked, i'll leave to your imagination.
anyway i should probably go explore umeda for a while instead of sitting in my hotel room. and then tomorrow I think my plan is to go to Kobe and then to the baseball game at Koshien, basically.
