Today's Headways class
- lots of caffeine: check
- gratuitous amounts of snacks: check
- too many sheep: check
- sitting in a room with no windows at night playing boardgames after everyone's gone home: check
Wow! It's just like college again!
Hiroko won. She was really happy. She managed to get a lot of lucky rolls early on -- it got to the point where 9's and 10's gave her a ton of resources and they kept coming up -- but, it was good fun anyway.
Today was Haru's last class, so he brought in Settlers and a ton of little bags of junk food. I bought drinks, and we played Settlers. Tatsuya showed up late but had some good kibitzing and I gave him some Giants baseball cards/crap I'd saved for him. I got really unlucky in the Settlers game but didn't really care. I'm really going to miss Haru :( I'd totally invite him to come play boardgames someday except that I think he's probably always too busy with his family on weekends...
If I was smart I woulda taken a picture of the whiteboard too, since it was full of game phrases: "roll the dice" "shuffle the cards" "I want to trade X for Y (it means give X, get Y)" "I'm going to use my sheep port to exchange 2 sheep for one rock"
As for the rest of the day, I only had the boy in my kids' class, and he was still pretty annoying. I had kind of hoped he'd be a good kid by himself, but no, all he wanted to do was play cards and hit things. I have no clue how the hell his brother is so good at English.
I got my webcam set up and talked to my dad on Skype for a while, so if anyone else particularly wants to see my face and hear my voice, let me know. I get freaked out having a webcam staring at me, so Dad said "Well, it's easy to just unplug it, you know." So I unplugged it. Right in the middle of our conversation. I'm really annoying that way.
