is it a day off if you basically go and "work" at your second "job"?
so today, I:
- went to Chiba
- took 800 pictures
- did not get a seat in the press box due to overcrowding, and instead sat in the CAMERA WELL by the Dragons dugout
- interviewed Tyrone Woods before the game (!!)
- hung out and chatted with Bobby Valentine again, and some of his friends, and some of the data geeks (it was Paul Pupo's birthday. I think he is one week younger than my mom)
- shook hands with Benny Agbayani and Jose Ortiz
- apparently was standing next to some dude who is like the Special Envoy to Japan and an advisor for Mitt Romney, but didn't know that until later
- got my picture taken with Doala!
- utterly couldn't talk to any Japanese players :( I got so tongue-tied.
(I have this feeling most of the Marines and Dragons must think I'm some kind of weirdo)

Shunsuke Watanabe wore high socks and won the game against the Dragons, where Masa Yamamoto started. Tyrone hit a home run and Zuleta also hit a home run. After the game I ended up riding the bus back into the city with Larry Rocca and his new intern Alex. That was pretty crazy, and I ended up changing trains three times instead of once, but eh, whatever.
I have to finish transcribing the interview with Tyrone. Most of it sounds really stupid to me but at least I did get a FEW good things I think.
Anyway, man, I have to either not take pictures or not write articles, it takes too long to go through everything :)
A few pictures I cropped, mostly for
firearmofmutiny and
the2belo, but anyone who likes seeing what Deanna does to experiment with bumping up her Nikon D200 to stupid high ISO to try to get pictures at night might be interested in these too:

Kazuyoshi Tatsunami. Mr. Dragons himself.

Masa Yamamoto! Sadly, no further on his way to 200.

Masa chatting with Kohei Oda. I think Tanishige was mildly injured this week or something (he was working out before the game, but hasn't been playing)

SHUNSUKE IS WEARING HIGH SOCKS. DOES IT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT?

The former Boy Wonder Naruse. I think now the Boy Wonder is Karakawa.

I have no clue what was so funny but Satozaki is really cute when he's cracking up.

Bobby said to me while we were watching Doala, "You know, that is REALLY difficult."
"Riding and waving to the crowd?"
"No, riding a bike on turf."
"You've tried it?"
"Yeah. Often."

I has a melon!

Kazuki Yoshimi!!!!! who is now like a bullpen setup superman or something.

Former Met #1, Benny Agbayani. You can also notice Ryuji Tachibana, the long-haired dude, in the background -- he is a strength trainer for the Marines and he used to be Bobby's trainer for the Mets.
Former Met #2, Satoru Komiyama.
