頑張れ僕らのファイターズ走れ早く

Well, er. Monday afternoon I did laundry, and it rained. That was dumb. In the evening I went to the Tokyo Dome and sat right in front of the ouendan and had my ears blasted out by trumpets and yelling, and lost my voice, and I guess I had a good time except that the freaking Giants won again. Oh, and due to positioning, I saw myself on the TV highlights. Not in a closeup, but I'm like "hey, there I am, waving my big pink Kensuke hand in front of the Kensuke Tanaka banner, as Kensuke hits a home run..." Things like that. Being in front of the ouendan also meant having to jump up and down for all of the appropriate cheers, which was fairly exhausting. When Nishimura came into the game -- the guy who hit Hichori with a pitch and broke his hand on Sunday -- we all BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOed. Very uncharacteristic for a Japanese crowd, especially all the yelling of things like "西村やろう!殺せ!" ("You bastard Nishimura! I'm going to kill you!") I yelled my new favorite thing to yell, "西村帰れ!" ("Nishimura go home!")

I briefly re-met some ladies I met at Kamagaya a few weeks ago and one gave me her meishi and I feel like I should write her an email but I am fairly sure she doesn't speak any English so I am likely to totally screw it up :(

Something kind of funny is... I was sitting literally in almost the exact same seat I sat in during my first Giants game at the Tokyo Dome in 2004, with Nykkel. Hitoshi had gotten us seats in the visitor's section (as his own personal Giants protest?). So I was in row 4, seat 567 that time, looking down at Alex Ramirez playing left field for Yakult... and this time I was in row 10, seat 569, looking down at Alex Ramirez playing left field for Yomiuri. Weird deja vu.

On the way home from the game, a guy shoved me really hard when I was trying to get out of the train at Oji and ended up getting stuck in a struggle in a crowd, and then my Fighters bag got caught on some Giants fan kid's bag strap, and it RIPPED my Katoh #12 pinbadge off my bag, which fell to the floor and broke. The kid didn't even apologize. What a pain. I seem to have glued it back together and I hope it stays.

Today I had work. The new teacher who will be replacing Eri for a while showed up, as did the lady from Head Office who has been taking care of us sometimes. Turns out the new teacher is actually a former manager from Niigata and Fukushima (she managed one of the guys I interviewed with... was good to hear he is doing well) and so she will be doing the teacher-manager thing. Also she studied abroad in Seattle... she lived in Federal Way and studied at the UW for a few weeks in college, and then lived in Vancouver for a year at some point. Something like that, I forget. It was funny because I was like "I think you are the first Japanese person I've ever met who actually hung out at Seatac Mall."

One of my students accidentally banged his hand and arm up on a bicycle on his way running to GEOS. I felt really bad for him and made the manager lady go find us some ice for it. And after work one of my Saturday students came by with a paper he's writing about some QA stuff for an upcoming software conference, he wanted to ask me about technical terms in English. It was kinda funny trying to remember the proper way to say things.

I really want to go to Kyushu. I've got to figure out a good weekend to go there and see the Hawks.
