I can has social life?
Dude, so I was stuck by myself for a good part of the day today -- two afternoon classes and then Eri arrived at like 6pm. One of my afternoon classes was with a lady who just took a long trip to Europe. She brought me back these weird syrup wafers from Holland, and told me about how she visited the house Anne Frank lived in during the war, and stuff like that. Also she apparently went to Belgium and drank, as she called it, "cherry beer". (Meaning fruity lambics, which are like the only beers I actually truly enjoy drinking.) I was like, "Why didn't you bring me some of THAT?" :)
But AFTER work, I met up with
the2belo, who is in town on a business trip. And we went to Anrakutei and ate a TON OF YAKINIKU and talked about baseball and work and random crap. It almost felt like having a normal social life! You know, hanging out with a friend after work! Wow! Of course, we only got to hang out for an hour and a half before making a mad dash for the last trains home, but that's okay.
Also, WE ARE FOREIGNERS WHO CAN USE CHOPSTICKS. FEAR US
I decided my over/under on Masa's 200th win is August 11th, his 43rd birthday.

I can't stand kirsch and framboise, because they taste exactly like the cough syrup I grew up with (except that the lambics have less alcohol). However, I *love* the strong belgian beers, and there might be fruit lambics I like that I just haven't tried.

Hahaha, I refused to use forks while in South Korea and China, but they would mysteriously appear on the table at my place. At one dinner, my Chinese hostess stole the fork because she had trouble holding the slippery veggies with her chopsticks.
