The Weekend That Will Not Suck, Part 3 - Kurosagi Movie

So after I got home and took a short rest, I went up to Saitama Shintoshin. Stopped by Kua'Aina for dinner and got a turkey sandwich combo (I decided an avocado burger was too much) and then went to Kinokuniya for a bit, where I bought the Shube special issue on this season of college baseball -- I totally have to try to hit some Tokyo Big Six games again this spring. (I need to bug my friends who go to Tokyo Big Six schools to get me tickets, nudge nudge ahem)

Then I watched the movie. I'd say I understood about 60% of it, at least in terms of words spoken. I think I definitely got the entire plot -- I know who the main bad guy is, what he did wrong, and what Kurosagi's plot was to get back at him, but there were some side people who I'm not sure I understood their relation to everything. As usual some of the deeper business words were the problem to catch. But hey, two hours of watching Yamashita Tomohisa face off in a mind game against Takenaka Naoto is entertaining no matter what happens. On the other hand I think the side plot with Horikita Maki and Ichikawa Yui being in the movie at all was stupid and unnecessary, it didn't contribute to the movie at all really aside from having this stage where Kurosagi and Katsuragi could argue a lot and pretend they were in Julius Caesar.

I saw a preview for a movie that was basically called "My girlfriend is a robot". The lead female role is played by Ayase Haruka, who pretty much IS a robot. I am fairly sure the irony is lost on the general populace of Japan, though.

I got home and saw sports highlights and Dragonbutt hit another home run!!!!! Move him UP in the order, Ochiai! Go-ban Morino ga wakadaisho, dammit!

Ok and on one last note, this is what I saw this morning walking from Iidabashi station:

I should have, but did not, take a picture of the line half a kilometer long of people waiting to eat brunch at this riverside cafe under the sakura trees.
