I have strep throat?

I sort of passed out last night around 2am and kept waking up sporadically through the night thinking "Why doesn't my heater work? Why is it so COLD in here?"

Turns out in reality, I just had a whopping big fever. By the time I took my temperature this morning it was 100.6, and I was dizzy and weak and couldn't get up, basically.

So I went to the hospital down the block, and saw a doctor, who amazingly spoke some English. They took my temperature and listened to me breathe and looked at my throat and all that and he's like "you have an inflammation of the throat" and prescribed me a bunch of drugs. (A BUNCH. Like 5 things I have to take 3 times a day. Yikes.)

I'm still not sure what I'll do for my evening classes tonight. Eri called and cancelled my afternoon classes; I was thinking of trying to do the 7-8-9 anyway. We'll see how I feel after I eat some food and take some medicine, I guess.

Just as a piece of general advice, you're usually contagious for about 48 hours with strep throat. So by going to teach those classes, you may actually be infecting all your students, depending on the incubation period in your body.

Also, orange juice tends to help, at least with the sore throat part. =)

I've found orange juise to be the worst thing to drink with a sore throat only because the acidity of the citrus burns my tender throat when it's sore. YMMV
