I have strep throat?

I sort of passed out last night around 2am and kept waking up sporadically through the night thinking "Why doesn't my heater work? Why is it so COLD in here?"

Turns out in reality, I just had a whopping big fever. By the time I took my temperature this morning it was 100.6, and I was dizzy and weak and couldn't get up, basically.

So I went to the hospital down the block, and saw a doctor, who amazingly spoke some English. They took my temperature and listened to me breathe and looked at my throat and all that and he's like "you have an inflammation of the throat" and prescribed me a bunch of drugs. (A BUNCH. Like 5 things I have to take 3 times a day. Yikes.)

I'm still not sure what I'll do for my evening classes tonight. Eri called and cancelled my afternoon classes; I was thinking of trying to do the 7-8-9 anyway. We'll see how I feel after I eat some food and take some medicine, I guess.

that sucks. same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. worst fever i've had in a long time (i went up to 39.9℃ (103.82°F). and when you're at 39.9 it's not "why's this room so cold?" but "omg the pain!") and it took me like 4 days to get over. It did get a lot better after I went to the doctor and got a bunch o' drugs (3 kinds: antiobiotics (because he couldn't figure out what exactly was wrong, but wasn't happy with how my throat looked either), mega-tylenol (400mg per dose), and 漢方薬 (herbal cold medicine)).

I have no clue what the heck most of them are. The pharmacist was like (in Japanese) "this one is for fever... this one is for throat... this one is for [antibiotics i think]... this one is for runny nose... and this is gargle."

I've only had such a ridiculously high fever once and that was during college when I got strep and bronchitis at the same time. Something like 103ish and some lounge-rats took me to the emergency room. The thing is that I run cold (my normal temperature is more like 97.2 F instead of 98.6) so any fever at all hits me harder than most people I think.

ugh the stupid thing is I went back to work tonight after :)
