Tsuitachi mini photopost

Today was just your "average" Friday, I suppose. Eri and I went for kaitensushi again, and then shopping at Daiei to get some school supplies. I also went and took out money and paid my bills... somehow I rang up a whopping 12,000 yen electric bill this past month, probably just on my inefficient means of heating my apartment. Yikes.

Apparently the mail tried to deliver something while I was in the shower this morning. I think it was probably the envelope Carl said he sent me with mail and whatnot.

Oh, and just for myself to remember: Mini-taiyaki! Wheeee yummy.

For lack of a good way to talk about today I think I will just post a few more pictures, aka The Last Few Days As My Cellphone Sees It. Yeah, there is one photo of me in this batch. (It's really for the benefit of my parents, who don't care about seeing pictures of random stuff in Japan, but do want to see pictures of their daughter.)

Setsubun display at Daiei. I still don't know if I'm actually doing anything for Setsubun. It's a bean-throwing festival this Sunday. You throw beans out to throw out the bad spirits. Or something like that.

The lesson in my kids class today was "Go straight" "Turn left" "Turn right". I had originally intended for them to draw a city on the board with just a few buildings and practice giving directions, but instead it turned into them asking me how to say about fifty different things/buildings in English. "Ok, tsugi... kore ga... kore ga English gakko." "School." "Ok, English school!" "Sensei, eigo de 'kuruma' tte nani?" "Car." "Ok, this is car." "Yamato, is that a police station?" "Hai. Mou nanka... FIRE biru?" "Firehouse?" "Firehouse, OK." We also did a choo-choo train around the room "turn left! turn right!" etc. It eventually turned into "run away from the Boy", but that's ok.

My student that went to Kyoto came back today. At the start of class I did my normal "What's up?" He talked a little bit about his trip. As I was about to move on from that he said, "Are you hungry?" "Maybe, why?" "Because I have souvenirs for you!!!" and he gets out this box of otabe yatsuhashi, which are apparently really famous Kyoto regional sweets. The other two students were like "OMG!! HUNGRY!!! FAMOUS SWEETS!" Hehe. He brought back cinnamon and matcha ones and they were really, really, really good. When I offered them to Eri later even she was like "omg! yatsuhashi! are these from [student]? I heard he went to Kyoto this week!"

As an aside, that class was the dreaded Sprint 7x. It didn't go too badly I guess. They decided to make up a matchmaking event for Duane. In Shinjuku 2-chome. I kind of was like "ok... NOBODY mention this at the party tomorrow, okay?"

This is the Warabi ekimae arcade's Bemani corner. There's also a taiko machine. I've been really lucky to find Pop'n empty most days lately. Tonight I also played a bit. My new favorite song ever is that "Online" koi no miracle song by RURURU something which is a 26 on hyper. Also stuff like Mobo Moga.

This is from Wednesday morning. The thing over the door is MY NEW HEATER WOOHOO. You can see how the outdoor part of it is really small so there's actually SPACE on my balcony now!

And this is some GEOS teacher. Stupid part is that I'm wearing a Uniqlo 800-yen t-shirt under my suit jacket, but Eri said that she thought the green looked really nice and bright.

Okonomiyaki at Osaka House. Pau's is on the left and is covered in tons of crap because he's a Hanshin Tigers fan and has to be all Osaka-like. I'm a Dragons/Fighters fan and thus I like the simpler tastes in life. Just sauce goddamnit, no mayonnaise or fish flakes for me!

"Pau, where the hell are we?"
"Ushihama?"
"Uhh... does that really mean 'Cow Beach'?"

This is from Saturday. Duane tries some umeshuu and makes a REALLY funny face.

Chiba monorail, from a week or two ago. It's so cute.

Enka concert at the crazy CD store in La La Garden. I already forgot what this guy's name was, but he was pretty good.

Whoa! This snapshot of you looks startlingly like our friend La Femme Makita. You didn't used to be married to Ron, by chance?

12,000 electric bill isn't too bad. Mine was about 14,500 last month, all thanks to my space heater. Winter sucks, lol.

Indeed it does.

I totally load up my お好焼 with sauce, mayo, katsuobushi, and nori. I guess Gifu's got a Kansai streak to it...
