Things I learned today
道産子, "dosanko", means "People from Hokkaido".
The Hokkaido J-League soccer team, in Sapporo, is called Consadole.
Consadole is basically "dosanko" backwards plus "ole!"
HOW COOL IS THAT? I LOVE HOKKAIDO. I TOTALLY NEED TO GO THERE.
I mean to visit, of course. But still, I thought that was really awesome. Consadole shares the Sapporo Dome with the Fighters and now I want to be a Consadole fan too :) They also won their league's championship in 2007, like the Fighters, and are now going to play in League 1 instead of League 2. Cool.
This morning I learned that I'm a complete fucking moron. You know how I went to Chiba last Sunday? And around 3-4pm I was passing through Makuhari thinking, "Hey, maybe I should stop in the Chiba Lotte Marines store here and see if they have anything new". Well, it turns out that from 2-4pm on Sunday, there was a Lotte Marines event in Plena Makuhari near the store. And Satozaki and Naruse were there and Satozaki is like one of my absolute favorite Japanese baseball players ever. Arrrrgggh I'm such a dumbass. I always feel so stupid because I can't figure out how to join team fan clubs and/or apply to go to special team fan events and all, but for this one all I had to do was show up at a mall! Arrrgh!
