New Year's Resolutions

Actually, I really don't have many:

1) Visit the other big islands of Japan (Shikoku, Hokkaido, Kyushu). This includes seeing a Hawks game in Fukuoka and a Fighters game in Sapporo, hopefully.

2) Pass the JLPT 2-kyuu in December.

That's really about it. There are other things it'd be nice to do, but too many of them depend on external circumstances that I have very little control over, or aren't really quantifiable. "Find friends and hobbies in this country" is a little too nebulous for my tastes, as is "Figure out what the hell I'm doing with my life".

I thought I could think of some baseball writing goals, but in reality I'm almost wondering whether I'm going to continue with that at all.

Last year my only new year's resolution was "Move to Japan". See, everyone has to start somewhere.

Beats my one, which is equivalent to your second. And I really don't like to call it a "resolution".

Kyushu is good for you! Go there! You can go extra-inaka and visit the Yayoi historical park in Saga-ken, and see my homestay home-base train station!

Just . . . don't go during August.

Definitely good to have attainable goals! I still haven't been to Hokkaido, as unbelieveable as that may seem. But for baseball, you've got a good reason to go, I guess.

2) Pass the JLPT 2-kyuu in December.

Heh, seems like they use the same ranking system for everything. :-P (Does it work the same way as the Go / martial arts ranking system?)
