Christmas in the Basement

I was wearing a red shirt and a Santa hat today to be festive, even though it wasn't quite up to GEOS dress code (the shirt is made of cotton). To make up for it, I wore a suit jacket and skirt and nylons and high heels for the first time in AGES, I usually wear suit pants and black flats.

Last week, I gave my 3pm Tuesday class homework of "Think of your best Christmas memory", and told them we'd have a special Christmas class of some sort today. I went on to libravox and found some readings of Christmas poems/stories to do as a listening exercise in class, and had some discussion topics ready.

So what happens? The two students apparently independently decided that our 3pm class was going to be the perfect time TO THROW A SPONTANEOUS PARTY and thus they both brought a whole ton of food in. One of them brought in sandwiches and takoyaki and gummy candy and such, and the other one brought in monburan cupcakes and tea and chocolates.

Well, we basically invited Eri into our classroom and just had a Christmas party for like an hour and a half. No lesson, just talking about Christmas, the New Year, plans for the holidays, sending cards, crap like that. All in English, of course, so it's sort of like a lesson, but still, that was pretty funny.

I took some pictures with my cellphone camera:

Getting the party started.

"Say Merry Christmas!!!!!"

I spent the entire day wearing the Santa hat. I put the scavenger hunt for chocolate out for my Millennium B class, but they were TOO smart for it and it took them like 5 minutes to solve the entire thing, and I'd even added three locations to it.

After work I had Christmas Katsudon. It was either that or Christmas Curry, since I went to Christmas Kawaguchi to play some Pop'n'Music.
