Timing

I had to wait at home to get a letter delivered tonight (one of those things where I got a "undeliverable package" slip earlier this week and called the post office). What sucks is that it's from KDDI and I can't read it and it seems to come with some sort of check, but I'm afraid to do anything with that either because I don't know if this is one of those scams like in America where they go "Sign up for our great ____ plan! Just cash this check and you'll be enrolled!" and then you end up owing them money for the service instead. Funniest part is that I don't even really know how to cash a check in Japan :)

The letter showed up around 8pm, so after that I ended up riding my bike down to Ario and going shopping a little at Ito Yokado. I really kind of want a new pair of jeans but I'm pretty much never going to find an acceptable pair, I think, due to the way Japanese women are shaped. Anyway, I tried on about 7 pairs of pants, didn't really love any of them though a few weren't terrible, and I was getting ready to give up and go home when I ran into the super-friendly Korean saleslady who I had talked to there back in August. She remembered me and wanted to know what I was looking for today, so I said jeans, and then she got me to try on THREE MORE pairs of pants and so by then the store was practically closing, and while one of the pairs was pretty decent it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. So, bleh. She also said that my Japanese sounds really good now, but I think she was just making that up because I think I still sound like crap.

Got cheap kaitensushi on the way home and also stopped by the supermarket. I know, how exciting. They had these bizarre tortilla chips that were the product of some unholy union between Pizza-La and Doritos. I didn't buy them, but I took a picture. I really need to do a Foodopost sometime with all the random pictures on my cellphone. Hmm.

I need to do laundry, in theory before the GEOS bounenkai tomorrow. On the other hand Rita says the dress is casual, so maybe I don't need to worry about wearing anything too nice. Also, if it really is at a karaoke place I am totally going to do Moeyo Dragons 2007 and annoy the crap out of everyone there. Still, in the end I would have been better off doing laundry tonight instead of going shopping, it seems. Oh well. It's not like I have anything exciting to do tomorrow.
