Nandemonai
How weird, I'm randomly watching the KAT-TUN show, whatever the hell it's called (it's the requisite variety show that all Johnny's bands seem to have), and their guests are Hyde and Ken from L'arc~en~Ciel. This wouldn't be so bad except that it makes me realize how fucking OLD they are now. I think in my mind it's still 1999 and they're still 30ish. (This is in stark contrast to Inaba Koshi from the B'z, who is just as good-looking at 43 as he was at 23. Which reminds me that I should start trying to find out if I can go to the B'z 20th anniversary tour next year... though of course it's going to be a nightmare getting tickets as always.)
I accidentally left my heater on all day. Ugh, I dread seeing my electric bill this month. I swear it feels like there was only a month or so between "so fucking hot you need the AC" and "so fucking cold you need the heater". Sigh.
I finally took down most of my Halloween decorations today at school and started putting up Christmas decorations instead. I bought a few strings of shiny stuff at the 100-yen shop during lunch, and then started making some red-and-green paper chains. I wonder if I can convince my kids' classes to make some snowmen and Santa Clauses. Hmm. Also, we're having our school Christmas party on December 16th, apparently.
I had lunch from Tenya and tried to get veggie tendon with an extra eggplant, but then the veggie tendon turned out to have two pieces of unidentified fried stuff that didn't taste very good, but upon looking it up later I believe it was some sort of mushroom. I was a little worried still that I might throw up later... I really have to figure out a way to get the EXACT tendon I want.
I really want to play PNM, I haven't managed to get in a game since 20 November or so. I keep getting home too late or there's a line to play at the Warabi arcade. Maybe tomorrow I'll try Kawaguchi instead. Also, something funny I noticed about Kawaguchi: if you write the kanji 川口 in a stylized way it looks like it says "1110". Which is 14 in binary. I do wonder if I could somehow work this into a silly obscure geek joke.
I had ramen at Ohtori for the first time in a while on my way home. He had added some soccer dailies to his wall of Giants Win!!! stuff. The miso ramen was good though.
Yesterday while talking to Jeff I had idly wondered if I'd ever reach a point in Japan where there was no point in blogging my days. The thing is, I thought about it for a while, and at least for myself, that point should theoretically never come up. If I could write entries about every day back in the States, I better be able to write something about every day here in Japan. Even if it's just silly crap like what TV shows I'm thinking about, or where I eat dinner, there's something significant about every day here for me. If there's ever a day where nothing significant happens, it's not the mindset's fault, it's my own damn fault for not doing something special. Even an ordinary day isn't really all that ordinary in the context of the moment.
