Balance is hard
I just bought a plastic set of drawers. They're 5 drawers, and the size of the unit is 33cm by 41cm by... 110cm. The nice Jusco cashier ladies were like "Are you going to be okay carrying that home?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Can we put a handle on it for you or something?"
"Oh, that's a good idea."
[after putting the handle on] "Ganbatte!!!"
"Hai, ganbarimasu."
Trying to put this on the back of my bicycle and wheeling it home was REALLY DIFFICULT. It was only a kilometer or so to get home, but it took about 25 minutes. On the other hand, I think it would have taken longer just walking, and I would have had to keep stopping to put down the box anyway, so at least this way I got home and my arms don't hurt at all.
Still, a lot of people gave me really funny looks the whole way as I was walking my bike down with a set of drawers kind of not really balanced on it.
Now I just have to figure out where the hell to put the thing. Whee... I felt like I really needed more storage space. This apartment's pretty tiny.
