ARRRRRRRGH why is it so hard to get a ticket to anything in this country
I woke up super-early to go look for Japan Series tickets, which were supposed to go on sale today.
I was at Lawson at 10am and the machine said "sorry, you can't buy series tickets here, you have to use the online Loppi site to buy tickets", so I figured I'd go to the only Pia place I know near here, which is in Parco Ikebukuro. So I go there (which takes like half an hour) and arrive around 10:50am... only to see a guy in a bright yellow Hanshin Tigers jersey (with 兄貴 #6 on the back) arguing with the lady at the counter about "why the hell do you have it listed here if we can't buy tickets here?" and sure enough, he's also trying to get Japan Series tickets. Turns out that of course fucking Pia will only sell tickets to it either online or over the phone. I'm like "I suck at talking on the phone in Japanese, can you help me with it?" "No."
FUCK.
I talked to the Hanshin fan for a bit. He's also a big Fighters fan it turns out, though he said he'd only been to Hokkaido for soccer, not for baseball. He said I should totally go up there anyway, even without a ticket, but I think that's a really bad idea.
I bought tickets to the Konami Cup / Asia Series finale on 11/11, got unreserved tickets so I can figure out later which side is for Japan, and then I can cheer for either the Dragons or Fighters, whoever wins the Japan Series. But STILL.
In the meantime it appears that the Japan Series sold out from people ordering online, so another big FUCK YOU to the ticket systems in Japan. I guess if I lived in Sapporo or Nagoya I could have lined up at the appropriate stadium, but... sigh. So, I am not going to a Japan Series game after all. Goddamnit.
We'll see what happens with the Series this weekend and then I'll figure out what to do next weekend. I really wanted to go out of town for a few days while I had the chance :(
