Dragonbutts

Probably only funny to [profile] the2belo and [profile] firearmofmutiny, but

I usually wouldn't bother getting someone to take a picture of me but everyone around me at Jingu thought it was really funny how hyper I was about Morino and then he totally kicked ass tonight. I think I was even on the big screen for a second or two, heh.

I think I see that the cleanup hitter has a 0 batting average? Does the pitcher bat in Japanese baseball? (I assume he's batting 4th due to a late-inning substitution if that's the case.)

Um... yeah, that's our closer Hitoki Iwase. :D The Dragons usually take their usual cleanup hitter (Tyrone Woods) out in the late innings because he's a defensive liability.

Ah. Makes sense. I can't imagine that the closer would get a lot of ABs.

That's an awesome amount of useful information on the scoreboard. As someone who keeps score at almost every baseball game he attends, I approve.

Mostly, I liked how both lineups and everyone's average is there for the entire game. I've done a lot of high school and independent minor league games, with really bare-bones scoreboards/announcing, so I guess I'm working from a different point of comparison. But I'll take your word for it.

Is the scorecard for a game in Japan the same as it is in the US?

Also, I'm deeply jealous of your travels; I've only been to three major league stadiums, none of which were built in my lifetime.

Hee!
