Foodo post, and other stuff

It really feels like I have no time, but that can't be right. I do seem to have less time to get things done at the computer than I did in America -- a side effect of not working at a computer all day, I guess. Even with internet at home, I get about 2-3 hours tops to do stuff... which is a lot if you think about it, but is a lot less than I used to spend at a computer in my former life. Maybe that's a good thing.

Guess what, the bruise/gash/scrape/whatever up my right leg is healing to the point where now it itches almost as much as it hurts.

Today was a pretty hectic day. I had an extra class to teach, so I was pressed for time, but then one of my classes had neither student show up, so I guess it all evened out, sort of. I'm not supposed to speak in Japanese to actual students of GEOS, but I spent about 10 minutes chatting about baseball in Japanese with one of Eri's students, a 13-year-old boy who loves the Giants. (It was either switch to Japanese or feel REALLY sorry for him, basically.) He was really funny, like "Fukudome should stay in Japan. Igawa sucks, and Matsuzaka is losing too many games, and the Mariners are losing so Ichiro is unhappy." Hehe. Later in the evening I wrote down my address for a student going on a trip to England next week, so she can send me a postcard (She said she would do it for "homework"). But I wrote it in kanji. She was like "OMFG YOU CAN WRITE KANJI?" and I said "Shh, don't tell anyone."

I went to quickly have kaitensushi for dinner, and there was a guy sitting two seats down from me wearing sunglasses indoors, and a long black coat, and a big hairdo... I almost sort of kind of wondered if he was a yakuza type. He was also using chopsticks in his left hand.

After work I decided to wander up to Urawa randomly, this time taking the train for obvious reasons. I walked around the area near the station; it looks interesting, and like an actual city, too. So much for this notion that I won't be getting enough exercise without a bicycle -- though maybe this is why I feel like I have no time, either. I also played a game of PNM when I got back to Warabi. The tiny little arcade near the station just got DM/GF V4 machines too! I may actually get to play sometime!

Okay, the rest of this is a PICTURE POST because I just dumped a bunch of random things off my cellphone. There's only one of me and it's pretty awful.

[profile] firearmofmutiny wanted to see a picture of me in my new Chunichi jersey, my dad wanted to see a picture of my apartment, and I'm sure everyone wanted to see a picture of my injuries, so... this is a picture of me wearing my Chunichi jersey in my apartment with the scrape on my right leg visible (it's just too hard to get a shot with all of my bruises).

These are the gelatin desserts I was sent as a "sorry we nearly killed you" gesture.

This is what I ate for lunch today, a hirekatsu sandwich. I doubt I could explain to the sandwich shop exactly why this wrapper is so hilarious.

This is what I had for lunch a few days ago. It's really just a butter roll that they baked to look like a sea creature.

NO DONT EAT ME NOOOOOOO

The meal from the other night at that fabulous Japanese-style place... you can see the flame under the hamburger. Man, that was delicious.

Speaking of hamburger, I kid you not, the kurasushi humongous kaiten place has hamburger sushi. I just had to take a picture. I wish I could have taken a picture of the whole place, but people kept looking at me funny. Maybe I need to get a movie of sliding plates down the plate-counting chute.

Omurice woohooo. I am the lunch queen.

This is where [profile] the2belo and I sat at the Nagoya Dome on Sunday. He has a much better picture in his entry.

And last, pictures from the Yokohama - Giants game on 9/2. I still need to make a post about these to Marinerds. I suck.

"Hosshey, where do we go when we die?"
"Yokohama?"
"You mean if we're good or if we're bad?"

Oooh, nice flesh wound. Actually a good picture, too -- looks very much like the dr4b I know and love.

Nice sea creature too :)
