It's raining. A lot.

I hear a typhoon is supposed to hit us soon. I bought an umbrella today. You know that means it must be bad.

I met my next-door neighbor this morning for the first time. The reason? He had his door open... while waiting for a delivery guy to come back upstairs with a whole bunch of cardboard boxes. Neighbor-san is a guy about my age, tall, smiley, seems like a nice guy, but...

(conversation in Japanese)
Me: "Oh, hey, good morning."
Him: "Hi there."
Me: "Are you my next-door neighbor?"
Him: "Yeah, I am, but..."
Me: "Nice to meet you."
Him: "...I'm moving out."
Me: "Oh. You are? Today?"
Him: "Next week. That's why the boxes are here."
Me: "Oh, I see. Wow... I just moved in about a month ago."
Him: "Oh, really."
Me: "Yeah... well... uh, good luck! There's a lot of rain so... see you..."

...which was true. It was AWFUL, so I decided to just get the hell out of my apartment and go to work rather than waiting for it to stop pouring. But, man, that sort of sucks, I was all happy to finally meet my neighbor and he's moving out? WTF? I wonder what the next person there will be like...

wow, the little typhoon circles actually appear to be hitting tokyo first this time. Usually they sweep by kyuushuu and kansai-ish areas before getting to tokyo so typhoons usually aren't a big deal. Gotta remember to time my trip to lab carefully tomorrow for when it's not raining =P

Is it totally bad that the first thing that came to my mind, when you said there was a typhoon, was that it was "Typhoon No. 7!" from First Kiss? Somewhere, in all the circles of hell, there's a special place reserved for you, because somehow... I seem to have gotten interested in doramas via osmosis and reading your blog. =)

It rained a lot (for Seattle, for September) here too. We set a daily record for 9/3, and the rain didn't even start until around 11pm. On 9/4, two-thirds of an inch fell before I even woke up (wasn't raining then, and probably stopped long before)

In all, 1.12" of rain in a matter of a few hours.

I'm quite bitter at the typhoon. Thursday is my school's 体育大会 and Friday is a holiday for us. But if it rains on Thursday, the event will be postponed until Friday (we'll have classes instead) and my 3 day weekend will be cancelled. >_>;

Again, you really should take your bike inside during all the typhoonery going on.

Also sit back and watch games in domed stadiums get PPND:RAIN printed next to them.

Maybe the replacement neighbor will be more visible so you'll meet before moving-out day is imminent.
