GEOS Poster - done!
I just finished making the introduction poster I have to make for GEOS, which will get sent to my school in Japan and hung on the wall for a while before I arrive, supposedly so that I will not be a "stranger" when they meet me in person...
This is my poster. The left top box says "Hi! I'm Deanna. I am a new teacher at GEOS!" and has a picture of me, the top right box says "I was born in Philadelphia. I have lived in Seattle for 5 years." and has a postcard of Seattle.
The bottom left box has a cartoon picture of volleyball players and a picture of a Catan board set and says "My hobbies: I play volleyball weekly and work out at the gym, too. My friends and I play lots of video games and board games together. But most of all..."
...the right bottom box continues, "I love baseball! :) Phillies - I like Chase Utley because he works hard and plays hard. Mariners - Kenji Johjima is an awesome catcher and is very smart. Fighters - Hichori Morimoto is a great fielder and hitter. He makes me laugh, too!" with pictures of the aforementioned team logos and players.
(I refrained from writing "Fighters - my favorite player USED TO BE OGASAWARA UNTIL HE SIGNED WITH THE MOST EVIL, FOUL, HORRIBLE SCUM OF THE EARTH, THE YOMIURI GIANTS...")
If you're curious, this is the headshot I used for the top left panel. I actually sort of like it. A few days ago I found a nice sunny spot in the hallway and took some self-portraits until I got a decent one.
Naoko called me today and we worked out some stuff about my flight there. She didn't mention CP1, but in theory it was due on Sunday, so I really should finish it and send it in. I feel pretty terrible but I thought finishing the poster was more important since it needs to be sent in real mail, as opposed to CP1 and 2 which can be emailed.
