HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM

I was out of town all weekend and forgot to send my mom a birthday card. Oops.

I did remember a mother's day card a few weeks ago, but. What's always dumb is that I perfectly well know when people's birthdays are. I just don't usually remember the "YOU MUST SEND A CARD BY THIS DATE" sort of timing.

Maybe I will bring one to Pittsburgh in a few weeks. Woohoo.

I have a similar problem. It's not that I forget people's birthdays (uh, except for that year when my Dad phoned me on his birthday and I still didn't remember that it was his birthday) it's that I don't remember them far enough in advance to send a card. My mother's is especially troublesome in this regard as it's the first of December. Mentally, her birthday is in December, so I never remember it until December, by which point it's waaaay too late to send a card.

With my dad, I have the problem of remembering every day for a couple weeks beforehand, and forgetting on the day of. This didn't happen this year, because for once finals period was meaningless to me.
