Sneakers update, and Carnival

Yeah, so I went to the store (GI Joe's in Northgate, for the record) this morning when they opened at 10 and returned the sneakers and got my credit card refunded. I guess I'm still in search of new sneakers, though I'm going to hold off until next week maybe (and will probably bring an ace bandage with me to Carnival if my right leg keeps hurting). I also decided I'm not going to the Twins game tonight, because I woke up with a sore throat and think that sitting out in the cold for 5 hours is a bad idea. Plus, I should do laundry and packing tonight. Packing! Argh!

I'll be in Pittsburgh for Carnival in about 48 hours. I don't really have very many plans, so I hope to randomly run into pretty much everyone on my friends list who's in Pittsburgh.

Well, or more like, as of now I'm thinking that some of the things I might try to do are (note a lot of "I have no idea" timeslots):

Thursday: 10am, arrive in Pittsburgh. Get rental car. 12pm, get to campus, find someone to have lunch with. 3pm, go to Kiltie Band concert. Afterwards... who knows. Hopefully find people to go to dinner with at one of my favorite Pittsburgh places like Del's or CBW or whatever, or see if anything else is going on. At some point I have to find mj2q because otherwise I will be homeless.

Friday: 12pm, Mobot, aka SCS alumni reunion. 4pm, Pippin (SNS show), maybe? 7pm, Mad Mex (I think shoebox_bird is organizing), afterwards hopefully hanging out more with people.

Saturday: 1pm, Lounge BBQ... I should probably let Vince know I'm going, huh. And I don't have much of a plan at all after that. I *could* bring my dancing shoes with me and drag people to Wightman (well, in reality it's mostly up to bhudson), but I'd be just as happy hanging out randomly somewhere, or seeing Pippin that evening if I don't make it to the Friday show.

Sunday: blk's pie party, no other plans. (Hmm... while it'd be pretty long to drive to Cincinnati to see the Phillies, I could maybe go catch a minor league game in Altoona or something... arashink, you ever go see the Curve?)

Monday: probly bum around campus during the day (or, maybe try to corner jcreed for our traditional bagels-and-babbling), drive back to airport at like 3pm, catch flight back to Seattle.

I'm assuming I'll be able to get some boardgames in at some point since rupes will be around, and I'd hope I'd get to play some stuff with garzahd too. I've heard from mygrane that she expects we'll take over the area above where the O used to be in the UC for alumni-hanging-out, but I really don't know. Hence cellphones. If you somehow don't have my cellphone number and you're on my friends list, it's in my contact info post.

Somewhere in there I have to make time to go shopping at the CMU store while it's open to try to replace my old sweatshirt, and to go down to PNC Park and hit up the Pirates store, too. And if anyone in Seattle or Pittsburgh has anything they want me to courier between the two cities, let me know. (No, Megan, I can't kidnap any Jensens and bring them back for you. They won't fit in my suitcase.)

Nah, it went away within the last year. It existed last Carnival. I'm sort of sad to not get a tray full of ridiculous fries too.

Glad you managed to return the shoes. I hate it when shoes are uncomfortable. Most places will take them back if the soles don't look dirty or worn and you are polite.

Hopefully I'll get to see you at Carnival on Friday if only ever so briefly. It's been ages since I last saw you in person.

Yeah, we'll see. Like I said I don't know exactly where I'll be when -- you'll be around Midway or something? I vaguely assume Trevor still does stuff with APhiO alumni, although I haven't in years.

No, the only minor league team I've seen are the Seawolves. Do let me know how it is though, since that would probably be a future random road trip.
