Snowless in Seattle

So today I went off to run errands (boo, Kinokuniya didn't have the magazine I wanted) and play volleyball. Unfortunately, they closed the gym at 6pm and we all had to quit playing volleyball. The reason? They were worried about the area getting snowed in. And sure enough, there was plenty of snow and it was sticking. Driving home wasn't TOO bad; I was worried more about other people driving than myself... then I remembered that despite learning to drive in Pittsburgh, I'd never actually driven on snow before. Teehee. Either way, it wasn't that tough.

Carl and Zach and I were originally going to go to ToI or something tonight, but instead decided to walk down to Market St and see what was open for dinner. AMAZINGLY, we actually got seated at the Matador -- usually there's like a 30-40 minute wait at the very least. It was pretty good I guess. I had an enchilada with sweet'n'spicy green sauce.

Anyway, I took my little camera along with me for the walk there/back, because I figured there's always the chance the snow will be gone by morning, and this is the second sticking snow I've seen in the four years I've lived in Seattle, so, pictures of snow! pictures of snow! click here!

Our house!

Downtown Ballard.

This is not a waiting spot for the bus. (This is not actually a bus stop. This sign usually confuses me.)

Cool stuff!

I miss snow... don't see it much in Shanghai, and it certainly doesn't stick around. Don't even see much when you get up in northern China as there's no Great Lakes (or Pacific, if you're not talking NJ/PA) to add in moisture to the air. It's just that whatever falls up north, stays for the winter... so gets all black and gunky in like, two days. :P

Thanks for the pictures, they made me smile. ^_^
