Holiday planning... Pittsburgh/Philly/etc

I'm thinking of ending up in a combination of Virginia, Philly, and Pittsburgh over the Christmas/New Years week. If I came to Pittsburgh for New Year's, for example, would anyone actually be around?

(I'm seriously considering getting round-trip tickets in and out of Pittsburgh actually, renting a car there, driving down to my mom's place in VA, then driving to my dad's place in Philly, then driving to Pittsburgh, then flying home, from somewhere in the Dec 22-Jan 2 range. I wonder if I still know how to drive on the east coast...)

Sounds like a good plan if people will be around. Driving here is like riding a bike -- you never forget, but you might get honked at a few times while you remember. :-)

Alas, I will be out of the country while you're here, so I won't get to see you.
