I ordered tickets, so I'm going to Philly next week, from Tuesday until Saturday. If anyone in Pittsburgh feels like driving me to the airport for my 7am flight... yeah, I know. I think the earliest 28X doesn't get to the airport until 5:45, so I hope this two-hour thing isn't entirely necessary.

Sigh. Reading my journal from last February after the Claritech layoffs make me feel a little depressed that my job search isn't going particularly well. On the other hand, last year there were a lot more companies that were hiring...

I sometimes wonder if I am the only person in the world who *doesn't* associate Sobakasu with Kenshin, but rather as just the third song on JAM's The Power Source... (...since I've only seen like two episodes of Kenshin ever. But I've read the first few manga... maybe now that I am unemployed I can raid Bloodgod for some episodes of it or something.)

It's not technically SJIS but Unicode.

It's the two-byte JIS code translated to UTF16-littleendian, and then each 16 bit word written out in decimal.
The reason that it is not displaying properly is because the browser is no doubt confused by Unicode in the unihan ranges when the page autodetects to some latin codepage (iso-8859-1).

I bet the problem would go away if you could coerce Livejournal to set the content-type to "text/html; charset=iso-10646".

Oh, you know what the problem is? Livejournal autoconverts all ampersands in the subject to &. Apparently there is a "No HTML allowed in subject" policy.

I don't think you need to worry so much about getting to the airport super early. Particularly on a weekday morning, when the whole place will probably be fairly deserted (well, except for the cute security guards). I got there at 7am for a 7:50 flight to RI last month and I didn't have to rush for anything.
