Japan Day 15
God this keyboard sucks. A LOT.
Um, today Oren and Carl left for Kanazawa. We got breakfast together at the Vie de France bakery in the Ikebukuro station, then they went to their train and I wandered to East Ikebukuro, where I went to Animate and found out they no longer sell any Pop'n'Music stuff, and then went and played some Pop'n'Music for a bit. I called Krispy and woke him up and made plans for tomorrow, though, so that was good.
I ended up spending the afternoon at the Tower Records in Shinjuku. I didn't MEAN to spend three hours there, but they have a ton of CDs that you can just listen to -- more than I remember any of the American stores having, or maybe the Japanese music is so different to me that I ended up listening to a ton of stuff. It was sort of annoying because I found a bunch of things where I'd like ONE song on a CD but not the rest of it so I just couldn't justify buying it -- in particular there was a guy named Matsuki Ayumu, whose new album Distortion has a great third track, but that's apparently not a single, and the rest of the album sucks. It reminds me of Orange Range, sort of, where I adore about three of their songs and the rest is just garbage noise as far as I care. Bleh.
Anyway, after listening to a ton of stuff I picked up like three albums, one that I didn't know about before (aiko's new album) and two I'd been unable to find used (the best of The Blue Hearts and the best of Sambomaster). Whee.
Then I headed back to Ikebukuro, where I grabbed some food and then ended up feeling a little sick and laid down for ten minutes, and then I realized that I couldn't go see any baseball if I didn't leave soon (it was past 4pm by then). So I ended up going back to Tokorozawa and seeing Seibu beat Orix. I had a pretty good seat and it was actually a pretty good game. I wrote about it on Marinerds, of course, and this keyboard hurts my arm so much I'm too lazy to go link.
Came back. Should sleep. Whee.
