I totally am better at Dodongo than Ryan is
Wheee.
So today, we got a vaguely late start. I-Gene and I went to the Original House of Pancakes or something for brunch. We had omelettes and pancakes, which were too much food. Then we went to the T-Mobile store, and I got a car/wall charger for my phone. Whew!
Went to Sunnyvale Golfland after that. The funniest thing happens: I-Gene points out the Pop'n'Music 8 machine, I make a beeline for it. My first game I'm scrolling through all the songs and my time runs out on freaking White Lovers. I haven't played Pop'n in like three months, and this is my first song after the hiatus, and I AAA it. No joke.
The rest of the afternoon was downhill from there :) No, just kidding. I guess we were at SVGL for about 2-3 hours. I pretty much just played Pop'n'Music, with one game of IIDX mixed in. Sadly, they have Drummania/Guitar Freaks V2, but there were these two guys hogging it the whole time, and I didn't feel like making an idiot of myself. Plus, Pop'n. Yay.
There was a mixup involving possibly going to
remington012's house for a barbecue -- mostly that he called me while I was playing PNM, then I called him back and got no answer, and I'd called
ryani earlier in the day, and so we ended up going up to San Francisco instead to hang out with Ryan and Carisa. Which was good, because I'd wondered if I'd actually make it into town this trip at all.
So we got to see Ryan's new house, and the cats and rats and pirates, and we got yummy mexican food at a place a few blocks from them in the Mission district, and then we hung out goofing off for several hours, playing some Tetris Attack and some Puyo Puyo and then for whatever reason, I played NES Zelda for like an hour while Ryan and I-Gene kibitzed (Carisa having wisely gone to sleep by then). Fun stuff. They were totally wowed by my Dodongo-bombing technique.
Got back here at like 2:15am. I'm meeting up with a friend for the A's game at 11:45am. I should sleep so I won't be thoroughly zonked, though I'm sure I will be. Still, fun times.
