Moon Over Mike Cammy

I got up fairly early due to not being used to the new place, and also that Zach was up, the dogs were up, and a cable dude showed up. Unfortunately, the cable dude didn't get our cable modem working, though he did get the cable TV working, or something. So I'm still using the wireless from what we're guessing is our next-door neighbor. Yeehaw.

I went to the Mariners-Padres game today with [profile] gomezticator; we had fun hanging out in the bullpen before the game with Conor, and more fun watching Chan Ho Park implode to the tune of 8 Mariners runs in one inning. Unfortunately, Felix Hernandez also had some ankle problems and some control issues resulting from it, and thus a metric shitload of runs were scored as the Mariners won 10-7 for the sweep. I wrote a slightly longer game report with some pictures from the bullpen over on Marinerds if you feel like reading it. Chan Ho Park is pretty cute. Mike Cameron got to again enjoy running back to the Safeco centerfield wall to watch home runs fly over it. I was on some painkillers and allergy medicine all afternoon, so I was sort of out of it, but I still had fun hanging out with Gomez anyway.

Also, [profile] nickjong would appreciate that I wore my Cameron #44 Mets t-shirt, and thus several people asked me who I thought would win the Mets-Yankees game tonight, and such. I'd just be like "Well, maybe you should be asking Billy Wagner, not me."

After the game I bussed back here and laid down for a bit. Zach was meeting up with friends for dinner, so I called up Mori and ordered a tonkatsu-tempura dinner and drove back to my old house to eat food and pack more stuff into the car. I feel sort of hopeless still about moving things, but I did load two dolly-loads into my car and brought it back here. When I got back and was moving stuff in, Zach had also returned with [profile] jeffford and [profile] jonobie, who seem pretty cool, and hopefully I didn't spaz out too much on them, because it would be nice to have more gaming (and baseball?) friends in town. Also, they gave me a Richie Sexson bobblehead since they went to the game on Friday. Whee.

I've been moving some stuff around the house. I put some of my duck stuff in the downstairs bathroom, but there honestly just isn't enough room for it all, which is sad, and I still don't know where the duckies will all go; right now it's just like, soap dishes, books, towels, and the glow-in-the-duckies on the wall. We'll see, I guess.

I wanted to build my computer table, but maybe I will just go to sleep instead. We'll see.

i was a big cameron fan while he was with the mets. i certainly miss his defense and personality.

i'm glad wagner got it done last new. phew. i'm paranoid that there are very few closers who can handle the NYC intensity. i hope billy can be one of them.

It makes me sad to see so many of the recent Mets alumni struggling. :o( The only one doing really well is Benson, the one I thought we really should have kept.

The Mets totally should have had a sweep, especially with three Yankees starters unable to play.

The most painful 'alumni' doing well is Scott Kazmir. Sigh. Hindsight is 20-20 (what was JD thinking!?!) and sometimes very painful.

Yeah, it pains me to think how easily the Mets rotation could have been Martinez, Glavine, Kazmir, Benson. Those four guys have a combined record of 25-7 now. Argh.
