突然彼氏のTEL Sunday 口ゲンカだら&

I was going to update my journal last night, but decided to hug Eli and ended up falling asleep instead.

Sunday was D&D. I ignored all of the munchkinning and went ahead with my character. We arrived at the town and found out the temple was taken over by the "hero" dude, and decided to start infiltrating peasant groups and kidnap their leaders so they'd be less likely to get cohesion and storm the castle and kill the lord we are to defend. So we found out where two of the leaders were. We tried to be stealthy, really we did, but instead we ended up totally trashing the two hideouts of the peasant groups, kidnapping their leaders unconsciously (ie we tried to kill them, then didn't totally let them die), killing all of the other peasants and bashing their heads in so they can't be witnesses via a "speak with dead" spell. Woo! I think we were pretty successful at our mission on every point except "stealthy"... I feel bad because I think Carl is probably the only Good character in the party. (Usually I'd think Dan was, but he killed our hostage from last week's adventure in cold blood... so...)

Anyway, after D&D I came home and goofed off for a little, and then we went to Sunday dinner. I brought my camera with me and finished off the roll from Saturday night by taking kitten pictures. I can drop the film off at CMU today, so I'll have it all back later this week, I think. After dinner we played a really annoying dumb game called Therapy, and then went home. Oh, we had a really yummy trifle for dessert. It would be even more yummy in my memory had I not seen two kittens get into it afterwards.

This morning I awoke and went to the dentist. It pisses me off that even though I have been REALLY good about brushing my teeth twice a day and using Listerine and even flossing sometimes, for the past three months, the dental appt still hurt and they still said I need to do a better job. Bleh.

Now to go find lunch....

I can assure you they didn't get into it before it was served. :-) But it was too bad -- could've been an unhealthy lunch for me today.

Yeah, I know what you mean :) I'm afraid it happens from time to time, but probably not very often. I never leave food out anymore unless I'm discarding it.

What I hate is that sometimes they get stuff I just opened, like the day I foolishly left a nice big steaming bowl of chicken soup for a moment, and there was Louie, happily eating my lunch. Oh well.

I was recently informed by my dentist that neither I nor most of the population of the Earth knows how to floss. Apparently the proper technique is to attempt to pull the floss through the gum tissue until it slices through your jaw like piano wire. The premise is that the bacteria will be so terrified of the hostile environment that they'll flee and look for more opportune places to infect, such as your internal organs. An alternate theory is that my dentist has some kind of kickback deal with a local periodontist, which might explain the thumb tacks in the waiting room candy dish.

My dentist doesn't recommend Listerine because of its high alcohol content (over 25%). It dries out the oral tissues and can actually cause bad breath. A non-alcohol, floride rinse is best, like Act.

More than that, if the dentist is THAT worried, they can give you a prescription for a medicated rinse like Peridex, which helps the gum tissue and kills bacteria...

and tastes like dirt with mint flavoring, but peroxide groups taste like dirt anyhow.

This must be one of those personality things, because that's one of my favourite games. It's kind of like "Scruples", IMO, but with interesting psychology trivia thrown in.

But, to each his own. :)

I liked it too! I won!!! I never win games of non-chance ;-)

What I found interesting is that it was as much luck as anything else. People kept landing in my therapy office and I cured everyone in one or two questions. Therefore, I collected all the pretty pegs by adulthood and just had to avoid trouble.

But, the triva questions got pretty punk from time to time. So, to each her own :-)
