Dammit dammit

Goddamnit, the teacher from the Seattle Language Institute just called me back and we talked for about ten minutes, and she basically said "Well, if you want to, you can come to the Japanese 201 class, but you'll be bored out of your mind. You should probably go look elsewhere or seek private lessons."

Goddamnit. Why is it so hard to continue studying a language once you get out of college?

Maybe I should post on craigslist seeking a conversation partner or put up a note at Uwajimaya or something. But I don't know how well that'll work for me. I like classes.

I don't have much to say about yesterday. I was braindead at work and braindead at home. Oh, I finished cropping my Vegas pictures. Dammit, need to install Photothumb.

Also, it's not bloody raining, goddamnit.

Well I started out in a professional sense by translating software manuals from Japanese into English, although this was 1994. And I found that job at the local placement agency by asking for it.

And I figure your Japanese is about where mine was at that time, and your software manual writing skillZ would likely run circles around mine. Why not take a 90-day temporary visitor visa and -- in the vernacular of my old radio testing days -- apply 100 volts and see what smokes? :)
