Vegas, Day 3

So, after writing my entry last night I sat around on the couch and read "One Pitch Away" while most other people partied/drank. What was funny is that people kept coming in to talk to me as they drifted from the party. [profile] digriz and I sat around talking about baseball for quite some time, which was wonderful, eventually drifting into gossipping with [profile] ohsochewy. Leclerc and Cobrani and Liani all came in for a bit to say hi as well. So in the end it was ok. I went to bed around 3am, not sure when I actually drifted off.

I didn't sleep particularly well, partially because it got really annoyingly hot in the room due to the sunlight, partially because the house was a lot more crowded (we got like 4 more people) so Leclerc came upstairs and crashed on the other half of the bed I was in. So the sun woke me up, and then a snoring British guy prevented me from falling back asleep. So in short, I got about 3 hours of sleep last night, after like 4 the night before...

On the other hand, there are things to do here. [profile] fish_tie cooked us all breakfast again, and after some sitting around and failing to find the WBC on tv, Liani asked if anyone wanted to head to the Strip with her, so we all went to MGM Grand. After some shopping and hanging out and even gambling (Squid picked up a couple bucks at the slots, and from what I understand Lemur and Gar both won a decent amount of money at craps and blackjack respectively. I put about $5 into slot machines and lost it all, though I was up for a brief bit of time. Slots are dumb.

Jeff, Sigil, Falk and I went over to Treasure Island after that but it turned out the boat show didn't start for an hour and a half, so we went ot Circus Circus! I got to play IIDX RED and Mambo a Gogo, and I sucked at both. also, the arcade sucks, it's like this big amusement park with some arcade games and during the day it is really scuppering hot there. It was hard to sight-read IIDX stuff with all the glare from the sun, too. But, I was really glad to get a Bemani fix and to see the arcade everyone had talked about.

We went back and met up with our group and saw the Treasure Island "sirens of TI" show. It was sort of funny, and mostly involved scantily-clad women being "sirens" and luring in "pirate men" to their ship. Sigil said, when we saw the entire boat of women sirens, "Oh my god, I think I jobbed with them once," and I cracked up.

Afterwards everyone came back to the house, although for some of this it involved walking way the hell down the Strip to a monorail stop and taking hte monorail back to MGM, then coming here. Squid and Wildrose worked on barbecuing shishkebob type food. It was really good. There was a Jackie Chan movie on TV and people hung out; I played pool with Zylphryx and talked to Gar for a while. We had a birthday cake for Burr and for Jeff, too, which was yummy.

I thought I was going to just zonk out after that, but I managed to get people to play Robo Rally -- Chris, Zyl, Jacq, Squid, Harrley, Leclerc, and Gar. We played two boards, three flags. I won, because I beat Leclerc to the first flag and ended up being home free after that. It was a lot of fun though. (Squid said: "You should totally hear my dad falling into a pit." Harrley said: "I AM ONE HUNDRED FEET TALL!!!! WHY AM I HITTING THESE WALLLLLS?")

Now it is 1am, which is "early" but I'm hoping I'm zonked enough to get a decent night's sleep. I come home tomorrow night. I think Chris is giving me a ride back from the airport though.

I recommend you not watch the WBC highlights tonight. You're likely to chew your television in half.

I thought it was worth watching because it was really really funny.
