I'm in Vegas or something
So I'm in Vegas, sitting in a room with a bunch of people I generally only see as little pixelated pirates in a game screen. I'm at a table with ![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
digriz, cobrani, Burr and LeClerc, over on the sofa is ohsochewy, piratelemur, and ciaweth, Wildrose and damienroc are on the floor by it, and melanied and Falkenberg are on the other couch, and many conversations are going on. captain_squid is ferrying fish_tie and jacquilynne to the other house we're renting here, and tangerinpenguin and Zylphryx were both here but are now at their hotels down on the Strip.
In short... yeah. We're in Vegas.
It started when I overslept horribly today but I still got to work for a few hours. On my way out it got really dark and cold, and it was snowing when I was at the bus stop. Then I took the bus to the airport and I showed up about 2 minutes after Chris. So we got our tickets and got through security and got through the airport, got food at Ivar's, got on a plane... etc. I watched the first episode of "I'll Be Back" on the plane, which was funny because I don't have subtitles for it and it's always hard to hear when you're on a plane. But, I liked it. I read more of "One Pitch Away" until the end of the flight after that.
The airport was sort of a nightmare. We got off the plane and there were lots of slot machines around, and we found our way to baggage claim through a bazillion people, and Chris got his bag. Then we found out that Jacquilynne's flight was late. We went to wait by the car rental place, and I got cabin fever and so I walked around a bit until I found Fish, Squid, Lemur, and then Liani and Madam, and Wildrose and Burr, and we had a big party in the airport... then I went back to the car rental place and Jacquilynne had showed up... but the other people were all gone from the baggage claim when I went back there. So eventually eventually Chris managed to get a car, and we managed to get here.
But it was like, 12:45am when we showed up here. Seriously. I think we got off the plane at 10:15 or so. I'm really sweaty from carrying all my junk through the airport and all.
On the other hand, there are people here. People are cool.
Hopefully I'll get to sleep at a decent hour and wake up at a decent hour and wake up at a decent hour and...

Well, have fun! I'd recommend places to hang out, but gentrification has turned Vegas into a giant suburb with casinos. All I could recommend for hangout spots are Borders books in Henderson and the Coffee Bean (& Tea Leaf) on Maryland Parkway and Harmon :P

But yeah, I guess I haven't made as big a deal about this trip as well, everyone else on the trip has made of it.
