Changes abound

This new LJ Schools feature is very weird. I couldn't decide whether to put "Carnegie Mellon 1994-1998" to reflect when I actually attended/graduated, or to put "1994-2002" to reflect when I was actually around there. For now, I did the former, but I may change it. We'll see.

I have a sore throat. My parents show up in 24 hours. This sucks.

Incase you live in Seattle, take the buses, but somehow have been living under a rock for the last month, I suggest reading the Tunnel Closure Guide. However, even if you don't, this week there are plenty of friendly bus-guide-mouseketeers running around the downtown stops. It's much like those crazy church proselytizers, except rather than asking you "Have you found Jesus?", they ask "Have you found out where your new bus stop will be next week?" They hand out pamphlets with the bus change information. One such bus prophet came up to me at the 3rd & Union stop and asked me if I knew about the bus tunnel closure. I smiled knowingly, nodded, and pulled out my bus guide. The 7 bus pulled up. And lo, I was saved.

I ran into one at U Street Station. I smiled and said, "Yes sir, thanks." But I'm not about to go into a rant about how the signage and stuff was everywhere and it should be obvious, because I can see how people wouldn't know. The media's mentioned it maybe once. I'd think it would make sense to cut into the traffic report to inform people that after Friday, they can't use the bus tunnel for another 2 years, so you might wanna make nice with the bums in Pioneer Square and on 3rd Avenue, cause you'll be seeing more of them for the next two years.

I can just see Deanna founding "Pirates for Transit"

(Jews for Jesus has been proselityzing on campus; in response, some Jewish org put out a pamphlet discussing how to avoid getting converted.)
