touristy sunday, kinda
Well, today Carl finally got to ride the Seattle monorail, as it was still under repair last time he was here. We stopped off at Blue C for mandatory kaitensushi, then I parked by the Seattle Center and we took the monorail downtown.
We decided the goal was to get mochi ice cream from Uwajimaya, so we walked from Westlake to Uwajimaya, stopping in the new Seattle Library building on the way. That place is scary! I found a ton of books I want to read there, though -- I may have to actually get a library card. (I waffle because I know I can be super-awful about remembering to return things.) The library is very... artsy and modern, but I think the Dewey Decimal Upward Spiral is pretty neat.
We did infact get the aforementioned mochi ice cream at Uwajimaya, after a stop at Kinokuniya, where I picked up some Japanese baseball magazines. Then we took the streetcar trolley to Pike Place, and walked back to take the monorail to the Seattle Center, and drove home. Yay for wacky public transit.
Played a game of the Settlers of Catan card game, which I won, and after that it was time to take Carl to the airport so he could, like, go back to that silly east coast place.
I've been on PP a few hours; Weaver helped me move more of my junk from Endurance to Turtle/Jorvik. Weaver rules! That is all.
