Ha, but my life is but a box of wormgears.
Dude, I found out that Washington Mutual will actually change Canadian money back to US... they just won't take coins. That's still good.
I drove down to Tacoma today... went to
damienroc and
wooko's place, and we all went over to an italian restaurant where we met up with
theonlymegumegu, and a bit later Alan, and a lot later Ro and Brien. During dinner-geeking-out I think I had an actual feasible possible idea for a card game, although the irony is that it'd be the exact kind of card game I hate, so maybe I shouldn't bother trying to come up with details.
After that we went to see the Hitchhiker's Guide movie. I had my Plaid Power towel, and Jeff had his Love Hina towel, and Wooko had a big blue towel. We ended up sitting in the very very front row because we ran late, which kinda sucked, but oh well. I actually thought the movie was pretty good except the random romance that sort of got smooshed into it, especially the super-cheesy ending. It just didn't fit with my mental picture of Hitchhiker's. I really did like the performances by most of the actors though. Zaphod Beeblebrox was so perfect and obnoxious that I really did want to smack him around most of the time. Arthur was a pretty good Arthur. Ford was a pretty good Ford. Trillian was even pretty good, although I wanted her to be more British (but she was otherwise great).
A lot of the lines that I really love from the book were preserved in the movie, so that was good. A few of the classic Marvin lines were left out, but that's to be expected. A couple Zaphod-isms were added in that really were pretty perfect.
Oh, and the "So Long and Thanks For All The Fish" song is an EXCELLENT foxtrot. I'd love to see it played at a ballroom dance club.
But yeah. I did actually enjoy the movie.
Afterwards, we went back to Jeff and Wooko's place for an 8-player game of Formula De, which was kinda funky. Then I decided to drive back up here, which is probly good because I started zoning out on the drive back... any later and I might have fallen asleep at the wheel. Of course, then I got home and started goofing off in PP. Bad Deanna. Hmm.

I LOVED HHGTTG, myself. So Long and Thanks For All the Fish was just great, but I think ballroom dancing to it is just too geeky for most ballroom dancers, although not being one myself, I could be mistaken.
