whee for Canada

[profile] crackoon and I went to Canada today. We pretty much went to Richmond, to an arcade/poolhall called E-Spot. The arcade part has a buncha music games, notably one wall has IIDX Red (11th), KBM, Drummania V and Guitar Freaks V (is that what, 12/11?). They also have a Rock Fever machine, a DDR, a DMX, a Shakkato Tambourine, and various Bishi Bashi games.

We played IIDX for about four hours, switching off, and sometimes playing other music games (I'm partial to Rock Fever. Oh boy, do I loves me my silly Korean Pop songs.) Considering I haven't played IIDX in a while I didn't do terribly badly, but I didn't do terribly well either. I had fun playing some new songs, and was direly disappointed we couldn't seem to find Everyday Lovelyday on the machine. James is scary good at IIDX now.

Then I wanted to go on a CD-hunting trip. We went around a bunch of shops and eventually ended up at the Richmond Centre mall, where we got A&W for dinner, yay, and I went to an HMV, and I finally got a copy of Great Big Sea's never-released-in-America album "Play", yay! I am even listening to it right now. I also picked up some Tragically Hip CDs that I saw cheap, and bought the DVD set of the first two seasons of Trailer Park Boys.

(I really need to get a job soon so I don't feel so guilty about buying crap. I also really should get rid of some of the crap I have. Sigh.)

We went back to E-Spot and played some more IIDX, and then hit the road and came back here.

Oh yeah, we didn't have any wait or trouble at the border either way. That was good.
