experimental sushi
wheeeeeee! eli and i made sushi this afternoon! now i am stuffed!
we went to supa-tokyo and bought yakinori, sushi rice, sushi vinegar, avocado, salmon, and a huge eel. then we came home and made various combinations of maki with the above ingredients. the main annoyances were worrying about putting too much vinegar in the sushi rice, getting sushi rice stuck to EVERYTHING (you have to wet your hands every time you reach in for more rice... blah) and overstuffing the maki so they didn't close right.
other than that it was a lot of fun and yummy! we thought it might be fun to do a make-your-own-sushi dinner party sometime.
