The other stuff

Last night I did go to Blue C, with [personal profile] mightyflorist. It was good to catch up and stuff.

I went to a Mariners game today with [profile] bpr. More details later (ie, a writeup). I even woke up super-early for it. Go me.

After the game, we went to Red Mill for dinner, and then went to M&J's house, where we kidnapped [profile] mh75 from the house since the guys were playing Warhammer Quest. The three of us walked to the Oak Tree movie theater and saw Fever Pitch, which I mentioned a few days ago. It was really neat, or at least, I enjoyed it. Yeah, it's a chick flick to some extent, and there's this whole romantic comedy thing going on between Drew Barrymore and Jimmy Fallon, but DUDE, it's like, the RED SOX, and it's like, 2004, and like, Fenway, and like, they win the World Series! And stuff. I mean, I guess people who see this movie will either come for the romantic comedy and put up with the baseball, or will come for the baseball and put up with the romantic comedy, but I gotta say, by the end of the movie, I was grinning like an idiot the same way I was when I saw the Red Sox win the ALCS in the first place.

I think the part of the movie that touched home the most was the "family" of all the other people in the section he had season tickets with. Like when I was a kid, my mom had season tickets to the Phillies, and she knew all the people who sat near her (infact I think she still exchanges Christmas cards with one of the people who sat next to us even though it's been like 15-20 years since we sat in section 330), and all the ushers knew us. I had so much Phillies junk as a kid...

Well, anyway, we walked back to the House of Slack afterwards, where they were still playing Quest, and Cory's like "So, how was the movie?" and we said "The Yankees lost! Woooo!"

I really want to go to Fenway someday. It'd just be neat to see the place.

that's actually the one thing keeping me from actually paying money to see it. I might pick it up on Netflix eventually, but it just seems too much like a regular old romantic comedy that just happens to be disguised as a baseball movie.

plus, I have my doubts about Jimmy Fallon's 'acting' anyway.

Fenway is awesome. As long as you don't end up sitting behind one of the roof supports.

"where we kidnapped mh75 from the house since the guys were playing Warhammer Quest."

It's somehow reassuring to know that some things never change. :)
