Robots and stuff
Whee, I hung out with Brian M tonight. We went to Crossroads, and we saw the movie Robots. It was better than I expected -- very goofy. I realize it's yet another installment in the "silly CG movies for kids but also funny for adults" series of recent films, but I thought it was kinda neat, even if it was vaguely anti-climactic. It had like a bazillion famous people voice acting in it, heh. And when the heck did Mel Brooks become, like, almost 80 years old? Wowie.
I saw a preview for Fever Pitch before it though, and I *have* to see this movie. It's got Drew Barrymore and the Red Sox in it -- who cares if it's actually good? I realize I will tend to lower my standards for some sorts of movies -- like baseball movies, and movies with people like Drew Barrymore or John Cusack -- therefore, since this is a baseball movie with Drew Barrymore in it, it won't have to be particularly good to make me happy. Hee. Anyway, it opens next weekend; if I don't find anyone to see it with, I guess it'll be the silly movie I force Carl to see with me in Pittsburgh or something! Whee.
After Robots, we wandered around Crossroads a bit, and had dinner at Chili's and sat around talking for a while. Man, Chili's really kinda sucks if you get anything besides fajitas. Oh well.
I came home and have been doing some crazy ship runs on PP; and now I'm going to go lie down and probably finish reading Moneyball.
Woooo, baseball season starts in like 12 hours over here!
(And GO CARP! Arai just hit a 2-run homer to bring the score to 8-7. I wonder if it'd be silly for me to decide to switch allegiance to the Carp this year just because I have a ship named Hiroshima Carp in PP... well, they can be my CL team, and I'll stay with the Fighters for PL. Har.)

Hey, you should go see the movie with me, although I dunno if you'll recover from the con by the time I leave for Pittsburgh.
