Cheez Quiz and hot dogs
Monday night we went to quiz night again, yay. It was terribly smoky and I got home smelling like smoke. But eh. We decided to change team names again - I went up and spontaneously registered us as "Cheez Quiz". We did okay, I guess -- importantly, we won Bingo again for 50 bucks, which split 6 ways was 8 each, and my dinner was only $6.50 so I came out ahead. Not drinking alcohol will do that.
Anyway, my favorite moment of the night was, coming over to check on our A-Z trivia sheet, he reads the X question, or the first few words "In this year, the Spanish Armada --" and I say, "1588" and keep reading down the page without even blinking. That question was worth 5 points and he would have given you 5 years leeway either way. I had it dead on. Hee.
Sinlaeshel and Llawela and people on PP got me to try voice-internetty-stuff. It turns out my Karaoke Revolution USB mic (not a headset, this is the Japanese one) actually works just fine as a mic on my computer. So I talked a bit on some program with them. Llawela taught me how to roll L's like in Welsh, except since I'd already met Jack's girlfriend Llyne a while back I was familiar with it. Kinda neat.
But, uh, the upshot is, whoa, I can actually record myself talking/singing and do voice-over-IP if I want. I don't really want. But I can. Neat to know.
I had a coughing fit last night (and another tonight, bleh) so I went super-healthy with Whole Foods food for lunch today. But my dinner was bad. You see, I played a game of DDR at Sunset, then went to Safeway, where hot dogs were on sale. Majorly on sale. So I bought like 16 hot dogs. This means that I'll pretty much be eating hot dogs every home meal for the next week or so. Even worse, half the hot dogs I got are fat-free. They, to put it mildly, suck. So I might not actually end up eating all of them. We shall see.
I cleaned my kitchen and office tonight a little and took out the trash so I would stop feeling guilty. You know, I'll have lived here a year at the end of this month, and I still am not fully unpacked or cleaned up here. Bleh. I did tell the building manager I plan to stay here longer but haven't decided on how long, for a lease. Whee.

I must say that I love the CT law banning smoking in bars and restaurants, even if it gives me the willies-civil liberties-wise. It is so great going out and not coming back stinking.

Just letting you know, you are far from being the only person for whom this is true....

When I first read that sentence, I thought you had bought 16 prepared hot dogs and ate them all. I almost fell out of my chair.
