What year was it? 1993-1994

What were your three favorite bands or musical artists? They Might Be Giants, The Cure, Black Train Jack. (I say this because I had the most TMBG and Cure tapes/CDs, and I saw TMBG and BTJ the most times in concert.)

What was your favorite outfit? A black "Red Dwarf" t-shirt with dark purple army pants, or my TMBG Apollo 18 t-shirt over a red flannel pajama top with khakis.

What was up with your hair? Uh, it was long.

Who were your best friends? [profile] bk3c, [profile] ag5j, Chuckie, Josh, etc Akiba crew. [personal profile] shandrew, Hubie, Udo, Lohi Rob, etc Upper Dublin crew. Laura, Evonne, Eric, Lisa, [profile] thistleshush, etc Baldi/GWHS crew.

What did you do after school? Choir, Mathletes, drama club, working on the literary magazine, computer programming competitions, volunteering at the library.

Where did you work? I didn't actually have a paying job.

Did you take the bus? Yes, everywhere, and the rest of Philly public transit too. Go SEPTA! R5 to Merion Station and Ooooooooverbrook! I tended to take the bus to school in the morning, but I would generally walk the two miles home.

Who did you have a crush on? [profile] bk3c

Did you fight with your parents? I didn't talk to my mother much. She skipped town with my brother a few months before my senior year and moved to Virginia. I lived with my dad, and we never fight, except maybe over who was using which computer at a given time.

Who did you have a CELEBRITY crush on? John Linnell of TMBG. Hee. Also George Newbern to a lesser extent. I'd still kill for a copy of the movie "Double Switch".

Did you smoke cigarettes? God no. My dad smoked enough for both of us.

Did you lug all of your books around in your backpack because you were too nervous to find your locker? I just didn't lug books around, period. I don't think any of my classes actually had really huge textbooks, and if they did, I didn't bother carrying them anyway. Yes, senior year of HS is the only year I ever got Straight A's all year, too, but that's beside the point.

Did you have a 'clique'? No. I barely talked to anyone in school.

Did you have "The Max" like Zach Kelly and Slater? No idea what that is.

Admit it, were you popular? No, I was easily one of the most unpopular people in my class, until about halfway through senior year when suddenly a lot of folks grew up a lot and realized that making fun of someone for being smarter than you is retarded. I think when I got back from Governor's School, and subsequently got accepted to Carnegie Mellon SCS early decision, it opened up a lot of people's eyes that I was actually *going somewhere*. Too little too late, though.

Who did you want to be just like? John Conway (yes, the math professor.)

What did you want to be when you grew up? A computer programmer.

Where did you think you'd be at the age you are now? Finishing up my PhD. Heh.
