Austin, day 4. Randomness mostly.

Woke up earlier than before and went to some Pei-Wei asian diner place for lunch with Nick, Adam, and Rehana. I was really sluggish for a while. Nick had a dentist appointment so I hung out at the Apartment of Games for the afternoon. There was some Tichu and some of this game called Fresh Fish which was a real mindbender. Nick and Adam and I played Zavandor again; this time I took the character that starts on the dust knowledge path and it did me well, I got a lot of early stuff, though I should have done artifacts as my second path. Oops. Nick won, blasting through a strategy of "diversify", and we all decided "screw emeralds". I was actually second though, mostly due to gathering so many artifacts early on. Whee.

Zach showed up and we played some Tichu, then headed to the Alamo Drafthouse to see Ocean's Twelve, except... it was sold out. And we couldn't find any other decently-timed showings. so instead, the three of us went to the County Line for barbecue dinner, which was pretty good. Although I was feeling kind of sickish during dinner, which I partially attribute to being outside in the cold on the patio and some guy smoking out there, too. After dinner we came back here and watched Major League. Nick seems disenchanted with it as a story, but had to agree that it's a damn funny baseball movie. I'm glad I got to watch it again, because it IS a damn funny baseball movie. Hats... hats for bats! Keep bats warm!

Something I am thinking about right now is that, huh, come to think of it, I guess I was 2-3 years ahead of all these guys at CMU, but now that we're so far out of school I don't really feel like there's an age difference anymore. It's odd. Or maybe I'm still mentally locked at being 23-24ish.

regarding that last thought, I usually feel that way when I go out with girls who are like around 5 years younger than me. Now it doesn't matter, but if I was 20 and she was 15, it'd be weird at the time, hehe.
